Policies and Expectations for all OTRMM Vendors

Geographic Restrictions

Over The River Maker’s Mart is open to those who live and/or create their work in the Richmond’s Southside in which “the boundaries are loosely defined as being south of the James River and west of Interstate 95 (formerly Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike) with a southern border extending approximately to Chester, Virginia.”
Reference Map.

Defining "Maker"

OTRMM is a curated event and work must be the vendor’s original design and execution. Items created from commercially available plans or kits are not acceptable. Buy/Sell (such as vintage clothing) is not acceptable. OTRMM looks for high quality, unique items created and executed at least 80%-90% by the vendor themselves. A small percentage of finishing by a third party (such as printing) is acceptable. We do not accept applicants representing national brands & products. OTRMM retains final discretion for acceptance on a case by case basis.

Submissions

You may submit and show work in more than one category, but at least one photo of each category of work must be included as part of your application. An image of your booth set up should also be included if available. Please submit a minimum of 3 photos and a maximum of 6 photos with the application. Digital images sent via email are acceptable but total file size should not exceed more than 5mb. Images should accurately represent the work that will be displayed. Artists may only exhibit work in categories that are included in their application.

COMMUNITY BOOTH

The Community Booth allows potential applicants - whether by need or product volume - to be best served with a smaller space. The booth will allow three - 4' tables housed under a single 10x10 foot booth. OTR will provide the booth but vendors will need to provide the tables, chairs, product, displays, etc.

Booth and Display

We are not able to accommodate requests for specific spaces. We organize the accepted vendors to ensure equitable distribution and variety for OTRMM attendees.

Each space is 10 feet by 10 feet. Tents, displays, art, supplies, chairs and other items must be kept within the assigned space and may not encroach into the adjacent space or street, or onto any sidewalk. Artists who use tents must have weights in case of windy weather. OTRMM is a rain or shine event so please plan accordingly. We currently do not provide electrical service to the event.

Displays must be professionally and aesthetically pleasing. OTRMM draws many families with small children and pets. Please keep this in mind as you set up your display. Artists are responsible for protecting their merchandise from damage and theft. The OTRMM event co-hosts are not responsible or liable for any loss, theft or injury incurred by any artist.

Everything else

Each artist is personally responsible for the collection and reporting of Virginia Sales Tax (6.0%). More information can be found here, or by calling (804) 367- 8031.

All cancellations must be made in writing or by email and must be received no later than 2 weeks before event date, in order to receive a 50% refund. No refunds after 1 week prior to event date.

Please indicate any special needs, such as wheelchair access, etc., on your application so we can place you in the best possible spot. Any other needs related to display of art and crafts are the responsibility of the artist.

If you are not accepted into the show we will notify you by email. Photos of artwork will NOT be returned.
